Club Walks are led by Robert Baker-Glenn. To comply with Covid-19 regulations each walk is limited to 6 people so the same walk is repeated three times so more can people can join in. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing. Dogs are welcome, but opportunities to be off-lead may be limited.
The walks this week will start and finish at the War Memorial Car Park at the top of New Road, Berkhamsted, where free parking is available.
Walk Description
5.39 km (3.35 miles), approx. 1 hr 30 min; 2 significant hills (one 50m ascent over 300m), which we will take slowly, but mostly flat. Arable; woodland; no roads. Good paths; one single file descent on uneven ground; no stiles. No livestock but bridleways may have mounted horses. Features: Alpine meadow (but don’t expect any Alps at this time of year), WW1 practice trenches; good views of Berkhamstead if clear. No immediate refreshment available afterwards; nearest available in Berkhamsted or Potten End.
