This class provides an introduction to Scottish Country Dancing covering the key steps and formations that will enable students to move into the club social dancing and join the Improve your Dancing Classes. It is open to those new to Scottish Dancing and club members who want to brush up on basic steps and formations.
For those new to dancing there is more information here. The cost is £7 per class (which covers attendance at the social dancing as well). Alternatively this class is included as part of a membership subscription.
The class runs at Potten End Village Hall from 7.15pm to 8pm. New dancers are welcome to join the social dancing that runs from 8.05pm initially for just a couple of dances but as experience grows for the whole of the session.
This class runs every Tuesday from 8 September 2026 until 8 June 2027. Participants usually find they need about a year to feel really confident in social dancing or moving on to other classes but it will vary.
There are no classes on:
13 October 2026 – when participants are welcome to join the Charity Dance social evening from 7.30pm
15 December 2026 – when participants are welcome to join the Christmas Dance social evening from 7.30pm
22 December 2026 – Christmas break
28 December 2026 – Christmas break
26 January 2027 – when the club celebrates Burns Night and participants are welcome to join the celebrations from 7.30pm
23 March 2027 – when there is a special evening with live music with a programme geared for less experienced dancers from 7.30pm
27 April 2027 – because of the club AGM
15 June 2027 – when participants are welcome to join the End of Season social evening from 7.30pm
